I'm reading a book that talks about the topic of rock music. The book is called Rock and Roll. It explains that rock is a very general subject, with many origins and artists who make that form of music successful. What you may not know is that in the 1950's, African Americans had a huge role in the key of Rock 'N' Roll's showcase. Some of these people, to name a few, would be: Robert Johnson, who was known for his guitar playing ability, and another, Chuck Berry, were great hits in the early ages of the genre.
Another thing to remember would be that there was not many radio stations that played music which was styled like the kind those men played, but one day, after an increasing number of white deejays, Alan Freed began to play R&B on his radio show. This idea came to him because he saw white teens buying African American records in a store, and it wasn't too long before he coined the term Rock 'N' Roll!
